Excel or CSV File Import

Import from Excel or CSV files.

Status: started

This is now available for customers and vendors: https://www.clarityaccounting.com/help/index.php/2009/04/14/importing-contacts/

We'd love to see some example Excel or CSV files to import - there are many ways to format an Excel/CSV file for bookkeeping and we need to know whether we've got our bases covered. We just need the column headings and a sample of the data included in each column.

Thanks!

I *love* the flexibility of this feature the way you have it now -- I create custom templates for the data I want, cutting and pasting from bank PDFs right into excel so I can import old, old data. Please don't lose the customizations on the CSV importer in favour of 'templates' when you roll it out.

We would like to be able to import to the Accounts via excel/csv.

Hi ellen, go ahead and send us something at support@clarityaccounting.com and we'll add it to our collection of formats to support when we add this feature.

I could send you a sample .csv if you are interested...

We use Harvest for time-tracking and invoicing. Since Clarity doesn't have a time-tracking function, I'd like to be able to import my invoices each month into Clarity.

Afterall, it's a little weird that I can export in CSV format but not import ;)

Would be useful to import expenses - for instance I use NeatWorks to scan and import receipts. Others use other apps, maybe their bookkeeper writes expenses into a spreadsheet.

    Thanks, M.
