Bank statement automatic download from the bank
Intuit Online can automatically download my bank statement, could Clarity Accounting do the same thing?
This has to be implemented and tested on a bank by bank basis and will only work for banks which support direct download into Quicken or MS Money. If your bank supports this direct download feature, and you'd be willing to help us test the software with your bank, please let us know by contacting us by email.

Support Quickbooks importing
Allow people who are currently using quickbooks to automatically import their data

automatic import of Paypal statements - PLEASE!!!
I have an e-commerce store and use Paypal for virtually all payments from customers and many supplies, subscriptions, etc. that I purchase online.
It would be a tremendous help to have the ability to sync / import Clarity and Paypal!

Add a budget feature
Allow users to create a budget, and then income and expenses can be tied to the budget line items so that useful reports can be generated (budget report, ytd spending vs. budget, etc.).

allow iPhone and mobile access to main functions/info
Quickbooks online has a mobile web portal and iPhone app to view main info and do some basic functions on the road (like create an invoice). This would be great for small businesses with people on the move.

Fully customizable invoice layout
Maybe using XHTML/CSS, or a custom editor for the invoice layout.
Status: startedYou can now add instructions to an invoice by going to your business profile and entering them into the "Invoice Instructions" field. They will be included on every invoice below the memo. This could be where you put your "make payable to" or bank deposit information. Offer inventory tracking
Offer a basic inventory tracking system
Thank you for your suggestion, currently we do not have this feature in our development pipeline since our development schedule is largely due to our most popular feature requests. But feel free to rally your small business friends who need inventory to vote this feature up the list :)

Sub-accounts support
For example, have a breakdown for "Travel Expenses" including lodging, parking, and meals. The accounts would be shown grouped on the P&L or Balance Sheet with a total for the group.

shoeboxed integration
Shoeboxed is a service which scans in your receipts and records/extract some information about them, including the total amount and the vendor. It has an API so we could use this to import bills into the system.

Add support for international currencies, custom TAX settings, editable invoice templates (for changing the language) etc.. so that users outside the USA can use the app.

Employee portal for entering invoices/expenses
Have a place for employees to enter invoices without being able to view all the books. The portal would be customizable in terms of which items and accounts could be used and how they appear to the person entering the data. One way to do this now would be to use a FreshBooks account for your employees and import that into Clarity Accounting.

Don't allow changes to old records - close the books
When records get old enough, typically after you've filed taxes based on those records, maybe you shouldn't be allowed to change them any more so that your tax filing won't be made obsolete

Cash basis accounting and reports
Currently we only support accrual basis accounting - that is, income and expenses are reported when they are invoiced instead of when they are paid. However, some businesses track payables and receivables but report income on the date they are paid.

Canadian Payroll
Status: plannedNote that there's nothing stopping you from using a service like http://payworks.ca and entering an adjustment after each payroll run. Payworks is very affordable and will probably be better at payroll than us, for the foreseeable future.
